About the position

The Robotic Arm Technician at Autonomous Solutions is a pivotal role within the Technical Team, focusing on the full robotic arm solution for autonomous yard shifting trucks. This position is responsible for handling arm programming efforts and coordinating tooling functionality and design needs. The technician will develop solutions to connect air and power connections between yard shifting trucks and trailers, ensuring high reliability during connection and disconnection processes. The role requires a strong commitment to collaboration, as the technician will work closely with developers, testers, and business stakeholders to deliver optimal software solutions. In this role, the technician will engage directly with customers and end users, performing trial runs of equipment and recording any issues that arise. They will report high-priority bugs and problems to their supervisor and serve as a primary contact for customer problem resolution. The position demands physical capability, as the technician must be able to lift and carry test equipment regularly, climb stairs and ladders, and maneuver around vehicles. The technician will also be responsible for creating clear and concise test-related documentation, utilizing agile development and testing methods, and participating in all aspects of the software development lifecycle. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential, as is the ability to provide tooling design needs to mechanical engineering and determine optimal mounting positions for robotic arms on yard shifting trucks. Additionally, the technician will train users on the correct operation of the robotic arm and its associated solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Handle arm programming efforts for robotic arms on autonomous yard shifting trucks.
  • Coordinate tooling functionality and design needs for robotic arms.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Certification on Fanuc Robotic Arms.
  • Certification on Fanuc 2D and 3D IR vision systems.
  • 3-5 years of experience with Fanuc Arms.
  • Ability to program Fanuc robotic arms effectively.
  • Basic understanding of software development practices.
  • Familiarity with basic database concepts.
  • Experience in teamwork and individual accountability.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem diagnosis skills.
  • Detail-oriented with good analytical and conceptual thinking skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities and ability to work independently.
