About the position

The primary function of a Robotic Automation Engineer at Lincoln Electric is to implement and support automated processes that enhance safety, ergonomics, quality, productivity, and cost reductions. This role is heavily focused on robotic solutions, which often integrate with other types of equipment, and may also involve non-robotic automation. The successful candidate will possess a strong hands-on background in robotic system implementation and will be responsible for leading automated solution projects through all stages, including conceptualizing automated systems, quoting, obtaining funding, managing projects, reporting progress, acceptance testing, installation, startup, and ongoing process support. In this position, the engineer will identify and conceptualize primarily robotic and occasionally other forms of automated solutions to drive improvements across the Machine Division. This includes coordinating with vendors to quote and size automated systems, managing projects from inception to completion, and programming robotic systems while providing support and troubleshooting for existing systems. The engineer will also design customized fixturing and workholding for automated systems using Solid Edge, create necessary documentation for the manufacturing process, and collaborate cross-functionally with various levels of the organization, including pieceworkers, R&D, QA, Supply Management, production departments, and executive management. As the technical expert in robotics, the engineer will mentor and train others in the technical aspects of robotic systems and will take on additional responsibilities as needed to support the Company's 2025 Strategy. This role requires excellent organizational skills, strong problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to handle a variety of assignments and changing priorities effectively.
