About the position

In this role, you will have the opportunity to act as the technical lead for all engineering activities in assignments. Each day, you will ensure the activities related to all engineering disciplines within the project are executed in an efficient and cost-effective manner. You will also showcase your expertise by acting as a design authority for a particular engineering discipline and completing the corresponding engineering assignments. The work model for the role is remote, contributing to the Process Automation Process Industries division, with main stakeholders being IAPI Growth Industries Solutions. You will be mainly accountable for collaborating on project installation, commissioning, and site activities, to clarify potential issues or provide solutions to rectify the engineering errors. Additionally, you will coach project engineers and designers on the translation of conceptual designs to engineering documentation, including modelling, prototyping, and calculations. Leading, supervising, and coordinating teams (less than 10 members) in all engineering disciplines (both in-house and outsourced) on projects will also be part of your responsibilities. You will apply design thinking or design for excellence concepts in projects, including modelling, prototyping, simulation, and calculations. Responsibilities

  • Collaborating on project installation, commissioning, and site activities to clarify potential issues or provide solutions to rectify engineering errors.
  • Coaching project engineers and designers on the translation of conceptual designs to engineering documentation, including modelling, prototyping, and calculations.
  • Leading, supervising, and coordinating teams (less than 10 members) in all engineering disciplines (both in-house and outsourced) on projects.
  • Applying design thinking or design for excellence concepts in projects, including modelling, prototyping, simulation, and calculations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical, mechanical or chemical engineering required.
  • 7+ years' experience in Robotics, AMRs, Mechanic equipment, Configuring PLC software and hardware, Design experience in controls panels, BoM and submittal experience, Supplier management, Proposal definition, Experience in industrial applications.
  • Proficiency in ABB Robotics including Robot Studio or RAPID.
  • Experience with ABB 800xA, AC800M (Control Builder), AC500 (Automation Builder) and/or Allen Bradley SLC/PLC-5 (RSLogix 500), Control/CompactLogix (RSLogix 5000) programming.
  • Familiarity with ABB Flexley / ASTI AMRs, Sigat or other traffic management software.
  • Experience with ABB Process Panel/CP600 and/or PanelView line HMI programming.
  • Knowledge in system integration, automation and/or electrical controls design and engineering.
  • Experience in integrating 460VAC and/or 575VAC VFDs and other drive systems into control solutions.
  • Experience in site start up and troubleshooting.
  • Electrical design and/or power distribution experience is a definite plus.
  • Knowledge of Food & Beverage, Batteries, Data Centers, Foundries, Cement and Medical Industries is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Palletization, Material Handling, Automated Warehousing or Furnace Tending is a plus.
  • Proven technical experience and project execution experience.
  • Strong organization and planning skills.
  • Strong analytical and excellent communication skills.
