About the position
The Robotics Applications Engineer - Growth Industries at ABB is responsible for leading engineering activities within projects, ensuring efficient and cost-effective execution across all engineering disciplines. This role involves acting as a design authority, collaborating on project installations, and coaching project engineers. The position is remote and contributes to the Process Automation Process Industries division, focusing on identifying robotics opportunities for customers.
Responsibilities
- Act as the technical lead for all engineering activities in assignments.
- Ensure efficient and cost-effective execution of engineering activities within projects.
- Act as a design authority for a specific engineering discipline and complete corresponding assignments.
- Collaborate on project installation, commissioning, and site activities to address potential issues.
- Coach project engineers and designers on translating conceptual designs into engineering documentation.
- Work with Account Managers to identify viable robotics opportunities for customers.
- Define and create conceptual designs with budgetary pricing in collaboration with suppliers and internal teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in electrical, mechanical, or chemical engineering required.
- 7+ years of experience in robotics, AMRs, and mechanical equipment.
- Experience in configuring PLC software and hardware.
- Design experience in control panels, BoM, and submittal experience.
- Supplier management experience.
- Proposal definition experience in industrial applications.
