About the position

Amazon Robotics is seeking an experienced data professional who is inspired by invention and problem-solving through teamwork. In this role, you will be part of a collaborative team that applies cutting-edge advances in robotics and software to solve real-world challenges, transforming customer experiences in ways that are yet to be imagined. The Amazon Robotics Storage Technology Analytics team is dedicated to discovering insights from vast and varied robotic data, helping engineering teams understand how their technologies operate across Amazon's extensive network of warehouses. As a member of this team, you will work cross-functionally with engineering teams, program managers, and leaders throughout the organization to deliver projects aimed at characterizing and improving the performance of new robotic automation technology. Your work will involve using a combination of unified and disparate data sources to uncover insights, which will be delivered through decision-driving analytics white papers and automated data visualizations. You will collaborate with Data Scientists, Data Engineers, and Program Managers to define and deliver world-class analytics tools and insights that will shape the robotic technology landscape. We are looking for an enthusiastic analyst who is passionate about delivering insightful and influential solutions to challenging and ambiguous problems. You should be a practiced analyst who uses data engineering, statistics, data visualization, and data science to influence decision-making in collaborative, cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate will think holistically through compound problems to understand how systems work together, defining and executing projects that drive improvements to robotic architecture or design.

Responsibilities

  • Work cross-functionally with engineering teams, program managers, and leaders to deliver projects aimed at improving robotic automation technology performance.
  • Use a combination of unified and disparate data sources to uncover insights and deliver decision-driving analytics white papers and automated data visualizations.
  • Collaborate with Data Scientists, Data Engineers, and Program Managers to define and deliver analytics tools and insights.
  • Conduct relevant and insightful analysis and communicate results through white papers and presentations.
  • Utilize design of experiments, statistical modeling, financial analysis, and data visualization methods.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field (Data Science, Business Analytics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or equivalent).
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in data analytics, data science, data modeling, and statistical analysis and modeling.
  • Working knowledge in scripting with R/Python for statistical analysis.
  • Knowledge in writing complex SQL and optimizing them for large datasets.
  • Experience in AB testing and using test/control methodology.
  • Ability to consume and manipulate large data sets and articulate their business impact.
  • Experience with data visualization using Tableau or similar BI tools.

Nice-to-haves

  • 6+ years of relevant experience in a business analyst, data scientist, or statistical analysis role.
  • Familiarity with AWS and big data analytic tools (EMR, AWS Athena).
  • Understanding of data warehousing and data modeling.
  • Proven problem-solving and project management skills, with attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills.
  • Knowledge in building advanced visualizations in Tableau.
  • Demonstrated ability to take end-to-end ownership of projects and drive results.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
