About the position

The Robotics Computer Engineer position at Leidos focuses on developing and testing navigation algorithms for autonomous robotic operations. This role involves both analytical and hands-on tasks, including simulation, analysis, and field testing, aimed at delivering advanced technology solutions to clients such as DARPA and NASA. The position requires collaboration within small teams to meet aggressive project schedules and contribute to real-world demonstrations of cutting-edge technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Integrate sensors and computing platforms over various electrical interfaces (e.g. RS232, RS422, SPI, I2C, TCP/IP, etc)
  • Deploy novel algorithms for optimal estimation and/or computer vision to various processing architectures for real-time execution
  • Enhance software architecture with software design, programming, and code reviews
  • Work within a team of 3-5 engineers to test algorithms on demonstration hardware
  • Travel with the team to demonstrate systems in real-world conditions; typically lasts 1-2 weeks and occurs 3-4 times a year
  • Present techniques, solutions, and results to the team and to customers.

Requirements

  • Experience with sensor integration and various electrical interfaces
  • Proficiency in deploying algorithms for optimal estimation and computer vision
  • Strong software design and programming skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a small team environment
  • Willingness to travel for field demonstrations.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with agile development methodologies
  • Familiarity with real-time processing architectures
  • Background in robotics or autonomous systems.
