About the position

The Robotics Engineer position at Integrated Solutions for Systems, Inc. involves designing, developing, and testing embedded robotics code for various Department of Defense projects. Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design, development and testing of embedded robotics code for a variety of Department of Defense (DoD) projects
  • Work in a small-team environment to support the development of innovative systems in areas including Robot Behaviors, Path Planning, Artificial Intelligence, and Machine Learning
  • Design, develop, and implement embedded software and firmware for various robotic systems
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define system requirements and specifications
  • Develop and maintain software documentation, including specifications, test plans, and user manuals
  • Conduct testing and debugging of robotic systems to ensure safety, functionality and expected performance
  • Participate in design reviews and provide input on hardware and software architecture decisions.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years experience in embedded systems development, with proficiency in coding with ROS, C/C++
  • Understanding of electronic circuitry and hardware design principles
  • Experience with microcontrollers, sensors, and communication protocols (e.g., CAN, SPI, I2C, UART, LiDAR, GPS, IMU)
  • Knowledge of real-time operating systems (RTOS) and embedded Linux
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in MIL-STD 1553 is a positive but not critical if motivated to learn
