This role involves adopting best practices in model-based design methodologies, collaborating with various engineering disciplines, and leading the design and testing of electromechanical subsystems to improve healthcare outcomes through innovative robotic-assisted vascular interventions.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the development of complex mechanical & electromechanical systems of the next generation robotic platform.
  • Adopt and continuously improve best practices in model-based design methodologies and development processes in the mechatronics domain.
  • Define, design, and develop sensors, actuators, related circuits, and control systems in collaboration with electrical, mechanical, firmware, and systems engineering teams.
  • Develop mechatronics interfaces across systems in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Apply mechanical engineering design principles and conduct static, dynamic, and kinematic analyses.
  • Design and develop electromechanical subsystems including concept generation, CAD design, analyses, documentation, verification, and design for manufacturing & assembly.
  • Lead the definition of system characterization and testing requirements, create design descriptions and specifications, and author testing protocols.
  • Postprocess test results using mechanical engineering principles and statistical theories.
  • Document processes, design descriptions, test protocols, and test reports.

Requirements

  • MSc in mechatronics, robotics, electronics, or mechanical engineering; BSc may also be considered.
  • 3-5 years of experience in product development, preferably in developing medical devices.
  • Experience with analytical and simulation tools including MATLAB and Simulink, with at least one year of experience in Simulink Real-Time and Hardware in the Loop.
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks CAD modeling and SolidWorks SIM; experience with 3D Tolerance tools is highly desired.
  • Familiarity with LabVIEW, sensors, DAQ systems, and GUI applications.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in electromechanical engineering design principles of capital equipment.
  • Familiarity with mathematical modeling, simulations, and control theories for complex mechanical systems.

Benefits

  • Flexible and dynamic work environment.
  • Opportunities for personal and professional growth.
