About the position

The Robotics Engineer position at MIT Lincoln Laboratory focuses on leading and innovating in the field of autonomous systems. The role involves developing and implementing advanced algorithms for multiple autonomous systems to effectively fuse local sensor information into a global representation, enhancing situational awareness and decision-making capabilities across various environments including ocean, land, air, and space.

Responsibilities

  • Develop state-of-the-art perception algorithms for real-time data fusion, tracking, and interpretation across multiple autonomous agents.
  • Design and implement systems to enhance communication and data sharing between autonomous platforms.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to prototype and field test multi-agent systems in real-world scenarios.

Requirements

  • A Ph.D. in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Background in algorithm development for multi-agent sensor fusion, with a track record of publications in this area.
  • Strong programming skills in C++, Python, Julia, MATLAB, or similar languages.
  • Experience with machine learning frameworks (e.g., PyTorch) and computer vision is highly desirable.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a dynamic, interdisciplinary team.
  • Strong communication skills to convey complex technical details coherently.

Nice-to-haves

  • M.S. with 5+ years of experience in a related field.
