About the position

The Robotics Engineer 1 position at Redwire involves developing mechanical and structural technologies for satellites and launch vehicles, focusing on the robotics orbital control laboratory. The role requires participation in the entire product development cycle, from concept generation to verification testing, in a dynamic and autonomous work environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop satellite and launch vehicle mechanical and structural technologies.
• Support the infrastructure of the robotics orbital control laboratory.
• Contribute to projects through the entire product development cycle.
• Design and implement prototype level technologies into legacy infrastructures using CAD and analysis.
• Complete special projects as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree with 2 years' experience or MS in Engineering discipline (Electrical, Mechanical or Computer Science) or related field.
• Relevant Internship and/or university projects in the space industry.

Nice-to-haves

• Familiarity with ROS2, Python, PID controllers, and machine learning.
• Ability to develop control algorithms for robotic arm manipulation.
• Professional experience in aerospace development of hardware and software.
