About the position

As a Robotics Engineer at Burke Porter, an Ascential Technologies Company, you will play a crucial role in the design, programming, and troubleshooting of robotic systems and PLC controls. This position requires a strong foundation in controls or robotic systems, with a focus on practical application in an industrial setting. You will be responsible for programming robots and PLC controls with minimal assistance, ensuring that systems operate efficiently and effectively. Your expertise will be essential in collaborating with assembly and engineering teams to troubleshoot and enhance robotic systems, ensuring that they meet the operational needs of our clients. In this role, you will also be tasked with instructing Field Service Engineers (FSE) on the operation and startup of our machinery, robotic systems, and control systems. Effective communication is key, as you will need to liaise with customers, project managers, and team members to ensure that all parties are aligned and informed throughout the project lifecycle. You will provide support for both new and existing equipment, leading machine start-ups and coordinating installation services to ensure a smooth transition from installation to operational status. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to train other Robotics Engineers and Controls Engineers, sharing your knowledge and expertise to foster a collaborative and knowledgeable team environment. This position offers the chance to work on a variety of projects, requiring you to manage multiple tasks while maintaining a high level of accuracy and dependability in your work. Your ability to quickly learn new and legacy machines will be vital in adapting to the evolving needs of our clients and the industry.

Responsibilities

  • Program Robot & PLC controls with minimal assistance.
  • Program and troubleshoot robot systems by working with the assembly and engineering teams.
  • Instruct Field Service Engineers (FSE) in the operation and startup of our machinery and robotic and control systems.
  • Instruct Field Service Engineers (FSE) in the operation and startup of Robots.
  • Ensure effective communication with customers, project managers, and team members.
  • Provide support for new and existing equipment.
  • Lead machine start-ups and coordination of installation services.
  • Train other Robotics Engineers and Controls Engineers.

Requirements

  • BSE with emphasis on controls or robotic systems or demonstrable knowledge of Robotic and Control System concepts used in our industry.
  • 3+ years' experience preferred.
  • Proficiency with AB PLC required.
  • Understanding of industrial networking.
  • Understanding of pneumatics design.
  • Robot Experience: FANUC required (CR-COBOT, CRX and DCS); Kuka, Motoman and ABB are a plus.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
  • Ability to solve problems using electrical prints, mechanical prints, and technical documentation.
  • Ability to quickly learn new and legacy machines.

Benefits

  • Hourly pay rate of $37.00-$41.00 per hour, with eligibility for overtime and double time.
