About the position

The Robotics Engineer position at Union Tank Car Company is responsible for overseeing robotic systems to maximize efficiency in a heavy industrial fabrication welding facility. The role involves researching, designing, building, configuring, testing, and maintaining robotic and robotic welding systems and applications, ensuring that all products meet quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Oversee robotic systems to achieve maximum efficiency in manufacturing production areas.
• Research, design, build, configure, test, and maintain robotic and robotic welding systems.
• Read, write, analyze, and interpret technical procedures and schematics.
• Define problems, collect data, and deduce facts and conclusions.
• Ensure all products meet quality standards for form, fit, and finish.
• Write software, build electronics, and design mechanisms.
• Design robotic peripheral equipment.
• Program complex robotics systems.
• Troubleshoot robotics systems and applications.
• Develop automated welding processes and procedures.
• Maintain accurate documentation and records.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in automation, mechanical, robotics, or electrical engineering from an accredited college or university.
• 2 or more years' experience in manufacturing, robotics engineering, or a similar role.
• Excellent knowledge of CAD/CAM software.
• Thorough knowledge of robotic welding systems.
• Proven ability to develop mechanical and electrical systems.
• Proven skills in writing software and programming systems.
• Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills.
