About the position

As a Robotics Engineer at MP Magnetics LLC, you will play a pivotal role in the design, implementation, and deployment of robotic systems and components. Your primary responsibilities will include conducting thorough research to determine the parameters of various robotic applications, ensuring that the systems are optimized for performance and efficiency. You will collaborate closely with the Physical Design Engineering team to advise on the optimal layout for robotic applications and the design of grippers, which are essential for the functionality of robotic systems. In this position, you will be tasked with developing and implementing software that controls the robots, creating prototypes, and working on necessary components such as microprocessors. Your expertise will be crucial in developing cost-effective and efficient processes for producing these machines. Rigorous system testing and quality control will be part of your responsibilities, ensuring that all robotic systems meet the highest standards of performance and reliability. You will also apply machine learning techniques to enhance the capabilities of the robotic systems and create comprehensive documentation for all robotic systems developed. Training operations, engineering, and maintenance teams on the use and integration of these systems will be a key aspect of your role. Additionally, you will monitor the functionality of robotic systems, troubleshoot any defects in the design, and implement innovative solutions to existing problems. Staying updated on advancements in robotics and related fields of engineering will be essential to your success in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct research to determine the parameters of a robotic application
  • Design, implement, and deploy robotic cells, systems, and components
  • Advise Physical Design Engineering team on optimal robotic application layout and gripper design

Requirements

  • Masters degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • Two (2) years of post-baccalaureate experience as an Automation and Controls Engineer, Robotics Engineer, or in a related position
  • Experience in the design and manufacturing of complete automation solutions
  • Proficiency in Python, MATLAB, Simulink, C++
  • Experience in Automation and Controls Design
  • Knowledge of Cycle Time Studies
  • Experience in Robot Programming and PLC Programming
  • Mechanical Designing skills
  • Creative End-of-arm Tool Designs expertise
  • Unmanned Vehicle Systems certificate
