About the position

The Robotics Instructor position at Relentless Academy is a part-time, contract role focused on teaching coding and robotics to children in grades K-12. The instructor will engage students through pre-packaged lessons, fostering a passion for technology and creativity while adhering to safety protocols. This role is ideal for individuals looking to make a significant impact in their local community by providing accessible educational programming.

Responsibilities

  • Teach coding and robotics to children using pre-packaged lessons.
  • Engage students with enthusiasm and a positive attitude.
  • Follow safety policies, including COVID-19 guidelines.
  • Work approximately 8-12 hours per month during the school year and 12-16 hours per week during the summer program.
  • Attend the end-of-summer showcase in August 2024.

Requirements

  • Experience working with or teaching children, preferably in settings like summer camps or youth coaching.
  • 1 year of experience with Vex Robotics or the ability to learn it quickly.
  • Basic understanding of building with LEGOs and teaching coding and robotics.
  • Technology savvy, with the ability to use Chromebooks, laptops, iPads, and 3D printers.
  • Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.
  • Ability to lift, push, and/or pull up to 30lbs.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in youth robotics competitions.
  • Background in computer programming.
