About the position

The Robotics or Mechanical Engineer position at Entegris in Decatur, Texas, is a critical role focused on establishing automation for conventional machining equipment. This role involves defining processes and requirements for utilizing robotics and automation to enhance efficiency in the machine shop. The engineer will lead a team to collaborate with design and prototype teams, implement systems into high-volume production environments, and report on project progress and metrics.

Responsibilities

• Support operations and the business unit through automation of machining equipment.
• Define goals and targets for efficiency through automation in the machine shop.
• Develop an action plan with metrics and dates to achieve defined goals.
• Lead discussions on cell/system design with integrators and internal teams.
• Coordinate installation and verification activities for new processes and equipment.
• Report monthly on progress, successes, issues, and obstacles compared to original targets.
• Lead the definition and implementation of a cross-functional team.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
• 5+ years' experience in robotics or automation.
• Design and application knowledge of ergonomic and automation safety standards.
• Onsite installation, commissioning, and support experience.
• Strong project management, analytical, and leadership skills.
• Experience using Solidworks and Studio 5000.
• Experience in an ISO 9001/14000 environment is a plus.
• Ability to work on projects in a cross-functional manner.
• Ability to research, identify, and engage decision makers.
