About the position

The Robotics Paint Engineer will play a crucial role in optimizing paint processes within a dynamic manufacturing environment. This position focuses on enhancing operational targets related to safety, quality, cost, and delivery while working with advanced paint and robotic technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Optimize paint processes to meet operational targets for safety, quality, cost, and delivery.
  • Provide technical support and consultation as needed.
  • Develop standardized work procedures and lead continuous improvement projects.
  • Program and troubleshoot robotic paint systems, including path adjustments and fault recovery procedures.
  • Ensure effective use of paint application equipment and pre-treatment systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in a Tier One Parts or OEM Automotive Paint Shop operation.
  • Expertise in optimizing surface treatment and paint processes, including manual and robotic spray operations.
  • Proficiency with robotic paint systems, including programming and troubleshooting.
  • Strong knowledge of paint application equipment and productivity improvement practices.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with Fanuc robots and programming.
