About the position

The Robotics Performance Engineer at Exotec is responsible for ensuring the performance and reliability of robotic systems deployed at client sites. This role involves analyzing system performance, diagnosing issues, and collaborating with clients and internal teams to implement improvements and updates. The engineer will also coach on-site technicians and engage with research and development teams to enhance maintenance procedures globally.

Responsibilities

  • Own the performance of Exotec systems at client sites
  • Oversee the reliability of client sites, analyzing performance, and creating and executing performance improvement plans
  • Analyze the root cause of issues escalated from Exotec Control Center
  • Act as level 2 escalation for non-core products (3rd party conveyors, etc.)
  • Work directly with clients to diagnose and resolve interoperability issues
  • Plan and execute site software and system updates
  • In conjunction with the sites managers, coach on-site technicians on site best practices to support uptime targets
  • Propose and help drive maintenance procedures and process improvements across North America and globally
  • Actively engage with Exotec R&D and product teams on specific maintenance issues
  • As part of the client team, work with the client contract engineer and sites manager to respond to client requests, including monthly performance reporting

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in engineering required
  • Broad knowledge on software, mechanical and electrical engineering
  • Some exposure to the industrial automation, materials handling, warehousing and/or logistics sectors would be highly beneficial
  • Strong analytical and data interpretation skills with an enjoyment for solving problems, both big and small
  • Customer service mindset
  • Ability to collaborate with others as well as drive your own work
  • A comfort in communicating regularly with clients, contractors and suppliers
  • Travelling up to 60% to client sites across North America
