About the position

The Robotics Software Engineer at Amazon Robotics is responsible for developing and maintaining high-performance software that powers advanced manipulation tasks on robotic systems. This role involves collaborating with a team of scientists and engineers to transition innovative features from prototypes to robust, scalable solutions, while also optimizing data pipelines and creating monitoring tools for global deployments. The engineer will integrate and validate new features on live systems, ensuring they meet performance and reliability standards, all while contributing to the mission of creating intelligent robotic systems that operate efficiently in dynamic environments.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain high-performance software for advanced manipulation tasks on robotic systems.
  • Transition innovative features from prototype to robust, scalable solutions for production.
  • Build and optimize data pipelines for performance tracking and machine learning support.
  • Create and improve dashboards and monitoring tools for global deployments.
  • Write modular, extensible code for future iterations of robotic platforms.
  • Integrate, test, and validate new features on live systems to meet performance standards.
  • Collaborate with experts across disciplines to create integrated systems.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
  • 2+ years of design or architecture experience of new and existing systems.
  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language.
  • 2+ years of programming using a modern programming language such as Java, C++, or C#.

Nice-to-haves

  • 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
  • Experience in embedded development in C/C++.
  • Experience building complex software systems delivered to customers.
  • Experience developing software for hardware systems that interact with the physical world.
