About the position

The Robotics Software Engineer at Anduril Industries will be part of the Vehicle Autonomy (Robotics) team, responsible for developing aerial and ground-based robotic systems. This role involves writing and maintaining core libraries for robotics platforms, owning feature development, and collaborating closely with hardware and manufacturing teams to ensure effective product development. The engineer will work on advanced technologies such as computer vision, motion planning, and secure communications to create a powerful robotics stack.

Responsibilities

  • Write and maintain core libraries for robotics platforms.
  • Own feature development and rollout for products, including building a Software-in-the-Loop simulator and writing autofocus control systems.
  • Design, evaluate, and implement sensor integrations for human and autonomous planning agents.
  • Collaborate with hardware and manufacturing teams during product development.

Requirements

  • Strong engineering background in Robotics, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or Physics.
  • 3+ years of C++ or Rust experience in a Linux development environment.
  • Experience building software solutions involving significant data processing and analysis.
  • Ability to quickly understand and navigate complex systems and established code bases.
  • Must be eligible to obtain and hold a US DoD Security Clearance.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in motion planning, perception, localization, mapping, controls, and related system performance metrics.
  • Understanding of systems software (kernel, device drivers, system calls) and performance analysis.
