About the position

Skild AI is seeking a versatile Robotics Software Engineer to develop and implement software solutions for robotic systems. This role focuses on building systems for navigation, planning, controls, SLAM, manipulation, and perception, while collaborating closely with research scientists and machine learning engineers to integrate advanced machine learning models into robotic applications.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and test software to bring robots to life, focusing on navigation, planning and control, SLAM, perception, manipulation, and/or high-level behaviors.
• Write and maintain production-level C++ and Python code for robotic platforms.
• Collaborate with machine learning engineers and researchers to deploy state-of-the-art models on robots.
• Work with deployment and test engineers to deploy and monitor robotic solutions at various sites, ensuring robust performance and reliability.
• Continuously improve and optimize robotic software for performance, reliability, and scalability.

Requirements

• BS, MS or higher degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Engineering or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Proficiency developing in C++ or Python.
• Prior experience developing and deploying software on real robots.
• Strong systems-level understanding of the various software modules and their interfaces in a robotic application.
• Strong technical experience in at least one of the following: navigation, motion planning and controls, SLAM, perception/computer vision, or manipulation.
• Experience with ROS/ROS2 or other robotics middleware platforms.
• Deep understanding and practical experience with software engineering principles, including algorithms, data structures, and system design.
• Familiarity with machine learning integration and deployment in robotic systems.

Benefits

• Base Salary Range: $100,000 - $300,000 USD
