About the position

The Robotics Software Maintenance Specialist is responsible for the upkeep, troubleshooting, and optimization of software systems used in robotics equipment. This role ensures that all software applications operate effectively and reliably, contributing to the performance and functionality of robotic systems. The specialist will work closely with engineers and technicians to implement updates, resolve software issues, and enhance overall system performance.

Responsibilities

  • Perform regular updates and patches to robotics software systems to ensure optimal performance and security.
  • Monitor software performance, identify issues, and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Diagnose software-related problems in robotics equipment and provide timely resolutions.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to analyze system performance and suggest improvements.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of software changes, updates, and troubleshooting procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations related to robotics software.
  • Work closely with robotics engineers and technicians to support software integration and functionality.
  • Provide training and technical support to staff on software use and best practices.
  • Conduct software testing and validation to ensure reliability and performance of robotic systems.
  • Assist in the development of testing protocols and procedures for new software releases.
  • Participate in the design and implementation of new software features and enhancements for robotics applications.
  • Support project teams in software-related aspects of robotics development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Engineering, or a related field; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in software maintenance or development, preferably in robotics or automation.
  • Familiarity with programming languages such as Python, C++, or Java is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in software debugging and diagnostic tools.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Relevant certifications in robotics, software development, or systems engineering are preferred.
