About the position

The Solutions Design Team at Amazon Robotics is seeking an innovative engineer to design next-generation Amazon Fulfillment Centers (FCs). This role focuses on creating high-performance physical systems and requires strong problem-solving abilities, project management skills, and effective communication with decision-makers. The team is responsible for optimizing existing robotic FC performance and integrating the latest technologies to develop advanced robotic material handling systems.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and create physical processing and material handling solutions using cutting-edge technology, robotics, and data analytics to meet product flow requirements.
• Identify and analyze key operational and financial metrics for program and feature selection to drive smart decisions.
• Coordinate with systems and operations engineering teams to develop product features and optimize FC performance.
• Manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously while effectively influencing and communicating with internal and external partners.
• Develop models as required to solve complex problems.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Industrial or Mechanical), Operations Research, or a related field.
• Experience using MS Excel, MS Project, AutoCAD, and technologies such as Tableau and SQL.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience working with designs of complex automated material handling equipment and systems including robotics and high-speed manufacturing.
• Demonstrated use of analytical skills to solve complex engineering problems.
• Experience with process design based on Lean Principles.
