About the position

The Robotics Solutions Industrial Design Engineer at Amazon Robotics is responsible for designing next-generation fulfillment centers by creating high-performance physical systems. This role involves problem-solving through teamwork, utilizing cutting-edge technology and data analytics to optimize robotic material handling systems, and ensuring effective communication with stakeholders. The engineer will manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment, driving innovation and ownership in complex problem-solving.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and create physical processing and material handling solutions using cutting-edge technology, robotics, and data analytics.
• Identify and analyze key operational and financial metrics for program and feature selection.
• Coordinate with systems and operations engineering teams to develop product features and optimize performance of fulfillment centers.
• Manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously, influencing and communicating with internal and external partners.
• Develop models to solve complex problems.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Industrial or Mechanical), Operations Research, or a related field.
• Experience using MS Excel, MS Project, AutoCAD, and technologies such as Tableau and SQL.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with designs of complex automated material handling equipment and systems including robotics and high-speed manufacturing.
• Demonstrated analytical skills to solve complex engineering problems.
• Experience with process design based on Lean Principles.
