About the position

In this role, you will primarily be responsible for implementing Gideon's robotic products and solutions into customer environments, as well as providing technical and functional support to our customers. We are looking for a determined problem-solver who inspires confidence in our customers. You will work closely with our partners and customers, as well as Gideon Engineering and Product teams, to ensure seamless integration of our autonomous mobile robotic systems within logistic, warehousing, and manufacturing environments. This position requires a commitment to travel for around 50% of the time to work on sites across different states. Your responsibilities will include performing installation and commissioning of the mobile robots at customer sites, monitoring deployments, and resolving issues. You will take responsibility for the integration of robotic systems, including hardware and software components, to ensure cohesive and efficient operation. Identifying and resolving issues related to system integration, performance, and functionality will be key aspects of your role. You will provide on-site, as well as remote technical and functional support and troubleshooting. Additionally, you will configure and deploy Gideon's autonomy stack on industrial vehicles and mobile robots, develop tools for scaling up the deployment to a large number of units, and install and configure a Linux-based operating system. Running demos at Gideon's test facilities and customers' sites will also be part of your duties. Based on customer feedback, you will collaborate with Gideon's Engineering, Product, and Quality Assurance teams on product testing, problem analysis, and troubleshooting, while maintaining communication and coordination with internal engineering teams.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • BSc or MSc in Software Engineering, Robotics, Computer Science, or equivalent work experience
  • +2 years of experience in robotic system integration or related field
  • 2+ years of experience working with Linux OS, Docker and Git
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as C++, Python, or Bash
  • Familiarity with hardware platforms and robot sensors (cameras, lidars, ultrasonic, etc)
  • Ability to communicate complex technical information and report problems effectively
  • Ability to effectively report problems through written and/or graphical formats, collect data, statistically analyze data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Willingness to travel across the USA
  • A valid driver's license and a valid passport
  • Candidate must be authorized to work lawfully in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship
  • Interest in learning and understanding how different parts of our robot system works (such as navigation, localization, computer vision, and others)

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with Robot Operating System (ROS)
  • Experience with electrical and mechanical tools
