About the position

The Robotics Systems Development Engineer Co-op at Amazon Robotics is a hands-on role focused on the installation, troubleshooting, and commissioning of robotic systems within fulfillment centers. This position is designed for students or recent graduates who are passionate about robotics and technology, providing an opportunity to work on real-world challenges and contribute to innovative solutions that enhance customer experiences. The role involves collaboration with various teams and requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the installation and commissioning of Amazon Robotics equipment in fulfillment centers.
  • Collaborate with third-party installers and contracted engineers to ensure successful deployments.
  • Provide technical oversight and support to project managers during installations.
  • Develop process documentation and modify existing processes to improve business performance.
  • Identify and solve problems in real-time during projects.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.

Requirements

  • Enrolled in or have completed a Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or equivalent.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Ability to work a minimum of 40 hours per week for the duration of the co-op.
  • Valid US driver's license required.
  • Willingness to relocate to the internship location.

Nice-to-haves

  • Enrolled in or have completed a Master's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or equivalent.
  • Experience working for Amazon or any Amazon subsidiary or affiliate.
  • Familiarity with programming or scripting languages such as Python, Java, C, or C++.
  • Experience with open-source technologies like Linux, Spring, or React.
  • Knowledge of distributed computing systems and programs.
  • Experience in automating and simplifying development, testing, and operations processes.
