About the position

The Robotics Systems Development Engineer Co-op at Amazon Robotics is a hands-on role focused on the installation, troubleshooting, and commissioning of robotic systems in fulfillment centers. This position is designed for students or recent graduates who are passionate about robotics and technology, providing an opportunity to work on real-world challenges while collaborating with a team of engineers and project managers. The role involves significant fieldwork, requiring technical skills in mechanical, electrical, networking, and software systems, as well as strong communication abilities to liaise with various stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the installation, troubleshooting, and commissioning of Amazon Robotics equipment.
  • Collaborate with third-party installers and contracted engineers during deployments.
  • Provide technical oversight and support to project managers on-site.
  • Develop process documentation and modify existing processes for new products.
  • Identify and solve problems in real-time during projects.
  • Drive continuous improvement projects to enhance business performance.

Requirements

  • Enrolled in or have completed a Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or equivalent.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Ability to work a minimum of 40 hours/week for the duration of the co-op.
  • Valid US driver's license required.
  • Willingness to relocate to the internship location.

Nice-to-haves

  • Enrolled in or have completed a Master's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or equivalent.
  • Experience working for Amazon or any Amazon subsidiary or affiliate.
  • Familiarity with programming or scripting languages like Python, Java, C, or C++.
  • Experience with open-source technologies like Linux, Spring, or React.
  • Knowledge of distributed computing systems and automation processes.
