About the position

The Robotics Technician will assist in the integration, troubleshooting, and training of autonomous vehicle technologies, primarily providing on-site technical support in the Tupelo, MS area, with additional support in Huntsville, AL. This role involves collaboration with the Autonomous Vehicle Operations Team in Georgetown, KY, and various Toyota/Raymond Forklift dealerships, with occasional overnight travel required within North America.

Responsibilities

  • Assist or lead in integrating AV systems at various customer locations in North America.
  • Report to a primary customer location in Blue Springs, MS with no overnight travel.
  • Occasionally report to customer locations in North America with overnight travel, especially while training in technologies.
  • Work extensively with software applications and web interfaces to configure, optimize, and troubleshoot customer AV systems.
  • Be physically present at customer sites to observe and optimize AV system performance, with occasional remote work to support customers.
  • Effectively communicate with customers and prepare system technical reports and documentation.

Requirements

  • An associate's or bachelor's degree preferred (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum of 2+ years of work experience.
  • Trustworthy, reliable, and self-motivated to earn and maintain the respect of customers.
  • Comfortable with Laptop PC, voltmeter, various small hand tools, and Microsoft Office applications (knowledge of Linux and TelNet a plus).
  • Working knowledge of automation technology (PLCs, Motors, Servos, Motor Controllers, Power Circuits, RFID, Encoders, Sensors, etc.) is a plus.
  • Basic understanding of electrical theory and mechanical design principles is a plus.
  • Logical and analytical thinking with a methodical approach to problem solving is essential.
  • Ability to advise, mentor, coach, teach, and effectively communicate with colleagues and customers.
  • Must be able to occasionally lift/move up to 70lbs.
  • Must be willing to travel overnight - up to 35%.
  • Must be eligible to work in the USA long term without sponsorship.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of Linux and TelNet.
  • Experience with automation technology.
