About the position

Anduril Industries is seeking a Robotics Test and Release Engineer to join our Vehicle Autonomy (Robotics) team. This team is dedicated to developing advanced aerial and ground-based robotic systems, transforming innovative concepts into operational systems. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in building an augmented automated code testing framework that supports the development and release of safety-critical systems. This position requires collaboration with cross-functional teams, including specialists in Perception, Autonomy, and Manufacturing, to tackle complex challenges faced by our customers. The Robotics Test and Release Engineer will be responsible for designing, deploying, and managing automated testing and deployment processes, ensuring that our products, such as Ghost, Anvil, and Sentry Tower, meet the highest standards of reliability and performance. In this role, you will establish and maintain continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines, providing expertise in achieving high code coverage at various testing levels for complex, distributed robotic systems. You will drive the adoption of CI/CD practices by creating reliable process automation tailored to each product and business line. Additionally, you will monitor and enhance system reliability, performance, and security through metrics, while evaluating emerging technologies to keep the team aligned with industry trends. This position is ideal for individuals with a strong background in DevOps, test engineering, and automated test coverage infrastructure, both on-device and in the cloud.

Responsibilities

  • Design, deploy, and manage automated testing and deployment processes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate DevOps best practices into the software development lifecycle.
  • Work directly with teams, including the Ghost product, to create a release pipeline infrastructure gated on automated tests with high code coverage.
  • Establish and maintain continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.
  • Provide expertise in ensuring high percentage code coverage at the unit, component, and integration test level for a complex, distributed robot system.
  • Drive the adoption of CI/CD by creating reliable process automation pertinent to each product and business line.
  • Monitor and enhance system reliability, performance, and security through the use of metrics.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies to ensure the team stays current with industry trends.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • Proven experience in a DevOps or test engineering role, demonstrating leadership and innovation.
  • Proficiency in C++.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
  • Strong expertise in CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, Travis CI, Circle CI).
  • In-depth knowledge of version control systems (e.g., Git, SVN).
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform).
  • Solid understanding of networking, security, and system administration.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Must be eligible to obtain and hold a US DoD Security Clearance.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience implementing automated testing frameworks in a hardware-in-the-loop (HITL) environment.
  • Experience with microservice architectures.
  • Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, ELK stack).
  • Experience with Nix/NixOS.
  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies.
