The Y Rock Wall Instructor plays a vital role in a mission-driven organization focused on community well-being. This part-time position involves planning and instructing rock climbing classes for individuals of all skill levels, fostering a sense of health, purpose, and belonging among participants.
Responsibilities
- Plan and instruct rock climbing classes for various skill levels.
- Lead and supervise climbing activities to demonstrate skills.
- Create a welcoming and supportive environment for participants.
- Communicate effectively with children, parents, and other associates.
- Adapt teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of prior experience with climbing.
- Strong communication skills to interact with children and parents.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
- Patience, good judgment, and a positive attitude.
