About the position

Insight Global is seeking a Roku Developer for a prominent media and entertainment client, offering a remote opportunity that operates on Pacific Standard Time. This role is integral to the Connected TV team, which is under pressure to launch a new suite of features across six platforms, including Video on Demand, bookmarks, favorites lists, and known authentication/known profile functionalities. As a Roku Developer, you will be responsible for managing the codebase specific to the Roku platform, ensuring that new features are developed, existing functionalities are enhanced, bugs are fixed, and code is deployed efficiently. The position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and collaboration with team members to meet tight deadlines. Experience in a lead capacity is highly desirable, as this role may involve mentoring junior developers and guiding them through technical challenges.

Responsibilities

• Develop new features for the Roku platform as part of the Connected TV team.
• Enhance existing functionalities and ensure optimal performance of the Roku application.
• Fix bugs and deploy code updates to maintain the integrity of the codebase.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet project deadlines and deliver high-quality features.
• Mentor junior developers and provide guidance on best practices in Roku development.

Requirements

• 7+ years of development experience, with at least 5 years focused on Roku development.
• Solid working knowledge of Roku SDK, Roku libraries, and BrightScript.
• Proficiency with developer tools such as Jira, Confluence, GitHub, and Charles Proxy.
• Demonstrable problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts clearly and effectively.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in a lead role, helping to mentor junior developers.
• Familiarity with agile development methodologies.
