About the position

The Roll Machine Operator / Set Up Operator position at voestalpine Roll Forming Corporation involves operating and setting up roll forming and press machines to produce metal shapes. This role is essential in ensuring the efficient production of components for various industries, requiring both technical skills and a hands-on approach. The position offers weekend shifts with training on first shift, providing opportunities for skill development and career advancement.

Responsibilities

• Perform machine operations and inspection tasks including loading/unloading parts and performing quality checks.
• Assist in setting up tools, dies, and equipment to operate roll forming machines according to work orders and blueprints.
• Make minor adjustments and perform coil and line changeovers.
• Responsible for guarding, crane operating, coil handling, and general housekeeping.
• Follow established procedures for ISO, JIT, 5S, and Lean Manufacturing.
• Maintain a working knowledge of ERP Software, raw material tickets, and inventory management.
• Assist in the placement of raw material and removal of parts, including cutting parts by hand when applicable.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent and ability to pass a general math test.
• Experience working in a manufacturing plant environment or similar, including machine set-up, metal working, or welding/fabrication.
• Ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs and occasionally lift up to 75 lbs.
• Basic computer skills and ability to navigate computer software with training.

Nice-to-haves

• Consistent experience in manufacturing.
• Experience in roll-forming or welded tube operations, machine set-up, and part inspections.
• Ability to read blueprints and perform setups or machine operations in metal fabrication.
• Demonstrated strong work history with good longevity at previous or current employers.
