About the position
The Rolling Mill Utility position at Nucor involves learning and functioning at a high level across various roles within the rolling crew. This includes operating equipment, performing inspections, and assisting with maintenance tasks to ensure safe and efficient production. The role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and accountability, requiring candidates to uphold safety standards and demonstrate mechanical knowledge.
Responsibilities
- Learn and function at a safe, high level in all positions on the rolling crew.
- Assist with basic maintenance of equipment.
- Operate all mill equipment as required.
- Perform Reheat/Crane/BD and UR/Sample Inspection duties.
- Demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies and procedures.
- Work in extreme weather conditions and rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Requirements
- 6 months of Roll Mill experience.
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to operate all mill equipment.
- Willingness to attain crane certification within one year of start date.
