About the position

The Rolloff Driver position at ABC Recycling LLC involves operating trucks designed for transporting scrap metal to various destinations, including industrial plants and scrap yards. The role requires a valid Class A CDL, a clean driving record, and at least three years of experience driving roll-off trucks. The driver must ensure compliance with DOT regulations and company safety policies while maintaining a professional image and effective communication with team members and supervisors.

Responsibilities

• Drive trucks designed to transport scrap metal to and from specified destinations.
• Comply with all DOT standards and regulations as well as company safety policies and OSHA guidelines.
• Project a positive company image by acting in a courteous, safe, and professional manner.
• Maintain daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, checking tire pressure, fluid levels, and safety equipment.
• Notify supervisor of any required repairs after inspections.
• Maintain communication with supervisor/dispatch via telephone or radio.
• Verify loads against shipping papers and prepare receipts for picked up loads as required.
• Properly secure loads and ensure they are within limits.
• Assist in the loading and unloading of material when required.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

• Possess a valid Class A CDL with a clean MVR.
• Minimum of 3 years satisfactory roll-off driving experience of Class A vehicles, preferably in recycling or waste industries.
• Must pass a DOT physical including drug screening and background check.
• High School Diploma, GED, or High School Equivalence Certificate is required.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with balers and/or cranes is a plus.
• Effective verbal communication and public relations skills.
