About the position

The Roof Lead at Freedom Forever plays a crucial role in the installation of residential solar systems, providing leadership and technical expertise to installation teams. This position focuses on ensuring safe working practices, effective communication with the Crew Lead, and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety on job sites. The Roof Lead will also be responsible for assembling solar system components and may be required to travel for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Communicate job status data to the Crew Lead for successful solar installations
• Lead safe working practices for the installation team
• Focus on re-roofing and assist with solar PV installation as needed
• Pull inventory for each roof installation
• Document completion of installations
• Ensure job sites are left clean
• Attend mandatory training sessions on new products and safety
• May perform required travel for extended periods
• Maintain a current driver's license and clean driving record
• Assemble components of residential solar systems
• Handle trenching and concrete work
• Mount racking and electrical equipment and seal penetrations
• Maintain a clean work site and safe environment
• Properly use Personal Protective Equipment
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Minimum of 1+ year experience, including at least 6 months of leading a crew
• Electrical and roof racking experience
• Strong motivation with attention to productivity, detail, and safety
• Ability to work safely at heights and in confined areas
• Ability to lift, pull, and push materials and equipment
• Willingness to climb ladders and work on rooftops
• Ability to lift 50 pounds frequently
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong customer service skills
• Reliable attendance
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
• Ability to work in extreme environments
• Skilled with power and hand tools
