About the position

The Roof Lead position at Freedom Forever involves providing leadership and technical expertise to installation teams in the residential solar sector. This role focuses primarily on re-roofing jobs while also participating in solar PV installations as needed. The Roof Lead is responsible for ensuring safe working practices, effective communication with the Crew Lead, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment.

Responsibilities

• Communicate job status data to the Crew Lead for successful solar array/system installations.
• Lead efforts for safe working practices for the installation team.
• Focus primarily on re-roof jobs and assist with solar PV installations when needed.
• Pull inventory for each roof work for installation jobs.
• Document completion of installations and ensure job sites are left clean.
• Attend mandatory training sessions on new products and safety meetings.
• Perform required travel for extended periods as necessary.
• Assemble components of residential solar systems and handle trenching and concrete work.
• Structurally mount racking and electrical equipment and seal penetrations effectively.
• Maintain a clean work site and safe working environment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum of 1+ year experience, including at least 6 months of leading a crew.
• Electrical and roof racking experience.
• Good motivation with attention to productivity, detail, and safety.
• Ability to work safely with heights and in confined areas.
• Ability to lift, pull, and push materials and equipment (up to 50 pounds).
• Willingness to climb ladders and work on rooftops for extended periods.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Ability to work well in a collaborative team environment.
• Ability to work in extreme environments (hot sun, cold, rain, etc.).
• Skilled with power and hand tools.
