About the position

As a Roof Lead at Freedom Forever, you will play a crucial role in our branch operations team, leading a crew to perform residential solar system installations. This position requires a strong commitment to quality and productivity, as well as proven skills in solar installations. You will be responsible for assembling, installing, and maintaining solar photovoltaic (PV) systems on various surfaces, including rooftops and ground mounts. Your daily activities will include measuring, cutting, drilling, and performing minor electrical work, all while adhering to safety regulations and company policies. You will also assist with structural upgrades and use hand and power tools effectively. The Roof Lead is expected to ensure that all work performed on the PV array is of high quality and complies with applicable codes and safety standards. In this role, you will drive a company vehicle to and from the branch, load and unload project materials, and communicate effectively with your crew. You will be responsible for providing direction and task assignments for all work performed at the installation site, ensuring that projects are completed efficiently and safely. Your leadership will be essential in maintaining constant communication with the crew lead onsite and ensuring that all work adheres to Freedom Forever's plan sets and safety regulations. Responsibilities

  • Lead a crew in the installation of residential solar systems.
  • Assemble and install solar photovoltaic (PV) systems on various surfaces.
  • Perform PV electrical work independently or under supervision.
  • Load and unload project materials from the company vehicle.
  • Ensure all work is performed in compliance with company policies and applicable codes.
  • Provide direction and task assignments for crew members at the installation site.
  • Maintain communication with the crew lead and update on project progress.
  • Follow safety regulations and ensure quality practices are adhered to during installations.

Requirements

  • 1 year of PV installation experience is required, including a minimum of 6 months leading an installation crew.
  • Basic electrical knowledge and experience with PV installation (racking and module install).
