We are seeking a Roofing Estimator to join our growing team, to bid for our construction projects. In this role as the Roofing Construction Estimator, you will estimate and bid construction projects for the rebuilding and repair of multi-family Bay Area communities and HOA's. As a Roofing Construction Estimator, you will be responsible for estimating and bidding construction projects, likely performing estimates for 25+ projects a month. You will attend job walks with the construction manager to obtain an understanding of the project, manage and assist with the preparation of RFIs and submittals, and perform plan take-offs for the scope of work. Additionally, you will review job plans and reach out to project subcontractors, providing necessary documentation. Maintaining files of working documents as backup for estimate figures is also part of your responsibilities. You will interface with owners, contractors, and others to provide engineering and cost data regarding project feasibility. Following the successful awarding of contracts, you will manage the awarding of subcontracts and the creation of purchase orders. This role requires close collaboration with the sales and production departments on customer interface and coordination of the change order process, including assessing and documenting scope, estimating and pricing the change order, and managing the creation and approval of the change order. The position entails about 90% in-office work and 10% in the field.

Responsibilities

Requirements

• Experience working with MS Excel and creating formulas, including basic spreadsheet creation and data keying.
• Experience performing roofing estimates for construction projects (commercial, residential, or other transferable experience).
• A keen understanding of the entire construction delivery cycle.
• Ability to read and interpret construction contracts, specifications, and plan drawings.
• Excellent knowledge of construction materials for roofing work.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in the construction sales cycle, assisting with identifying new customers or the bid process.
• Experience with TopBuilder is a plus.
