About the position

The Roofing Superintendent at Great Lakes Roofing Inc. is responsible for overseeing roofing projects across the Oakland County area, ensuring they are completed efficiently, safely, and to the highest quality standards. This leadership role requires strong technical knowledge of roofing systems, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects and teams effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all aspects of roofing installations, repairs, and maintenance projects, ensuring high-quality workmanship and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Manage and direct roofing crews, ensuring proper training, task delegation, and resource allocation to maximize efficiency on the job site.
  • Coordinate daily activities, ensuring that project milestones and deadlines are met while managing labor and material resources.
  • Monitor the progress of roofing projects, conducting regular inspections to ensure work is completed to the highest standards.
  • Ensure that all safety regulations and protocols are followed on-site, conducting regular safety meetings and inspections.
  • Quickly identify and resolve any issues that arise during the roofing process, ensuring projects remain on track and within budget.
  • Maintain communication with clients, providing updates on project progress and addressing any concerns or questions.
  • Oversee the delivery, use, and inventory of roofing materials, ensuring proper handling and storage on job sites.
  • Maintain accurate daily reports, including labor hours, material usage, job site conditions, and progress updates.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5+ years of roofing and exterior remodeling experience, with at least 2+ years in a supervisory role such as a foreman or superintendent.
  • In-depth knowledge of roofing systems, including shingle, metal, flat roofing, and related materials and techniques.
  • Proven ability to manage and lead crews on multiple job sites, ensuring high-quality work and timely completion.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients, contractors, and team members.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to address challenges quickly and efficiently.
  • A commitment to maintaining a safe work environment and ensuring that all crew members follow proper safety procedures.
  • A valid driver's license is required. OSHA certifications and additional industry certifications are preferred.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at once, stay organized, and maintain detailed records of project progress.
