As a Room Attendant, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and presentation of our guest rooms and public areas. Your responsibilities will include cleaning and preparing guest rooms to meet established standards of cleanliness and propriety, ensuring guest satisfaction and maximizing revenues. You will retrieve items from shelves and storerooms, set up cleaning carts with supplies, and maintain a clean and orderly environment to enhance efficiency in cleaning rooms. Your attention to detail will ensure that all areas are presentable and attractive at all times, contributing to the overall guest experience. In this role, you will be expected to perform various cleaning tasks, including washing shower walls and tubs, cleaning toilets, and wiping exposed pipes. You will also replace towels, soaps, and room amenities, ensuring that all supplies are adequately stocked for arriving guests. Dusting and polishing furniture, stripping beds, and vacuuming rooms and public areas will be part of your daily routine. Additionally, you will inspect room equipment and report any maintenance deficiencies to the Executive Housekeeper for prompt resolution. Maintaining a friendly and courteous demeanor at all times is essential, as you will be representing our commitment to exceptional service.

Responsibilities

  • Retrieves items from shelves and storerooms, sets up cleaning cart with supplies, and maintains carts and storerooms in a clean and orderly fashion.
  • Cleans and wipes windows, doors, walls, closets, and fixtures in rooms, public areas, and hallways, often using ladders or stools to clean hard-to-reach areas.
  • Washes shower walls and tubs, cleans toilets and stall walls, wipes exposed pipes, cleans mirrors, sinks, and walls to ensure clean and sanitary restrooms.
  • Replaces towels, soaps, and all room amenities, restocking literature that has been removed or is soiled and torn.
  • Washes all hard floor areas by hand to remove dirt and soiled areas.
  • Dusts and polishes all furniture, fixtures, and wall hangings, including using a duster to reach vents and ceiling corners.
  • Strips beds of all linen and remakes with fresh linen, checking bedspreads, blankets, and bed pads for cleanliness.
  • Lifts mattresses to check for soil between mattresses and under beds.
  • Checks closets for cleanliness, wiping closet doors, handles, and overhead shelves, and restocking guest room supplies.
  • Vacuums rooms, public areas, and hallways, operating vacuums weighing up to 25lbs and lifting/moving heavy furniture to vacuum under furniture.
  • Inspects all door and window locks to ensure they are in working order and alerts management to any unsecured or unsafe situations.
  • Inspects all room equipment (TV, lights/lamps, faucets, radios) to ensure proper working order and reports deficiencies to the Executive Housekeeper.
  • Secures and maintains custody of equipment, keys, and supplies at all times.
  • Maintains a friendly, cheerful, and courteous demeanor at all times.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or deemed necessary by management.

Requirements

  • No formal education or training required.
  • Basic knowledge of general cleaning principles, use of cleaning products, and operation of standard cleaning equipment.
  • Ability to understand and follow verbal/written instructions and communicate both verbally and in writing.
