About the position

The Room Attendant at North Rampart Corporation plays a crucial role in ensuring that guest rooms and public areas are cleaned and maintained to the highest standards. This position is essential for guest satisfaction and the overall success of the hotel. The Room Attendant is responsible for cleaning and preparing guest rooms, ensuring that all areas meet established cleanliness standards. This includes not only the guest rooms but also public areas, hallways, and other facilities within the hotel. The role requires a keen attention to detail and a commitment to providing a safe and clean environment for guests, associates, and vendors alike. In this position, the Room Attendant will set up a cleaning cart with necessary supplies and maintain both the carts and storerooms in an orderly fashion to enhance efficiency. Daily tasks include cleaning windows, doors, walls, closets, and fixtures, as well as washing shower walls, tubs, toilets, and stall walls to ensure sanitary conditions. The Room Attendant will also be responsible for replacing towels, soaps, and other room amenities, ensuring that all supplies are adequately stocked for incoming guests. Additionally, the role involves washing hard floor areas, dusting and polishing furniture, stripping beds, and vacuuming rooms and public areas. The Room Attendant must also perform inspections of door and window locks, check the functionality of lights and remotes, and report any safety concerns to management. Maintaining a friendly and courteous demeanor is essential, as the Room Attendant will interact with guests and associates regularly. Other duties may be assigned as needed, making flexibility and adaptability key traits for success in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Cleans and prepares guest rooms and public areas to meet established cleanliness standards.
  • Maintains hotel rooms and building for a safe and clean experience for guests, associates, and vendors.
  • Sets up cleaning cart with supplies and maintains carts and storerooms in an orderly fashion.
  • Cleans and wipes windows, doors, walls, closets, and fixtures in rooms and public areas.
  • Washes shower walls and tubs, cleans toilets and stall walls to ensure sanitary conditions.
  • Wipes exposed pipes, cleans mirrors, sinks, and walls in guest and public restrooms.
  • Replaces towels, soaps, and room amenities, restocking literature as needed.
  • Washes all hard floor areas to remove dirt and soiled areas.
  • Dusts and polishes all furniture, fixtures, and wall hangings.
  • Strips beds of linens and remakes with fresh linens.
  • Checks closet for cleanliness and restocks guest room supplies.
  • Vacuums rooms, public areas, and hallways.
  • Inspects door and window locks and alerts management to any safety concerns.
  • Checks lights and remotes to ensure functionality.
  • Maintains a friendly, cheerful, and courteous demeanor at all times.

Requirements

  • Basic knowledge of general cleaning principles and use of cleaning products.
  • Ability to scrub and scour surfaces, extending arms over head, bending, and stooping to perform cleaning tasks.
  • Ability to push and/or pull equipment weighing up to 100 lbs.
  • Ability to lift a maximum of 50 lbs.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with guests and associates.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
