About the position
The Room Inspector at Oak Grove Racing, Gaming & Hotel is responsible for overseeing the housekeeping staff and ensuring that cleanliness standards are met throughout the facility. This role involves creating room assignments, training new hires, and maintaining effective communication with the Front Desk and Housekeeping teams. The Room Inspector plays a crucial role in promoting outstanding customer relations and ensuring a high level of service is provided to guests.
Responsibilities
- Open housekeeping office daily and create room assignments.
- Train new hires to meet cleanliness expectations.
- Handle lost and found inquiries.
- Effectively communicate with Front Desk and Housekeeping staff members.
- Oversee housekeeping staff, including making room assignments and directing performance.
- Evaluate housekeeper's performance and recommend counseling or disciplinary action as needed.
- Assist housekeepers if short-handed.
- Promote outstanding customer relations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Previous housekeeping experience preferred.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and integrity.
- Detail-oriented with a professional attitude.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Customer-focused and willing to work when needed, including weekends, holidays, and nights.
Nice-to-haves
- Ability to multi-task and take direction.
- Valid Kentucky gaming/racing license.
