About the position
The Room Service Attendant at Intermountain Health is responsible for performing various food service duties under close supervision. This role involves delivering and picking up patient meal trays, communicating with patients about the Room Service procedures, and ensuring the accurate assembly of food trays according to individual selections. The position emphasizes quality control, safety practices, and effective communication within the healthcare environment.
Responsibilities
- Distribute menus and deliver and pick up patient meal trays.
- Communicate proper procedure for using Room Service to patients.
- Communicate with the diet office regarding patients' meals.
- Assemble patient food trays accurately, following individual selections.
- Check all food items for quality before serving.
- Order par stock for the floor kitchen and put it away.
- Report equipment malfunctions to Lead or Manager.
- Follow safety practices, including equipment safety and proper use of PPE.
- Record temperatures as needed.
Requirements
- Previous food service and customer service experience preferred.
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Hazardous Analysis of Critical Control Point (HACCP) training to be obtained after hire.
