The Culinary & Nutrition position at Wyoming Medical Center involves providing meal services to patients, ensuring their dietary needs are met while delivering excellent customer service. This role is integral to the food service team, requiring interaction with patients and staff to enhance patient satisfaction through nutrition and hospitality. The position requires working varied shifts, including weekends, and focuses on maintaining high standards of food handling and sanitation.

Responsibilities

• Visit patients to discuss menu selections based on dietary orders.
• Record daily patient meal selections and preferences for one or more patient units.
• Demonstrate appropriate judgment with modified diets and food knowledge when relating to patients.
• Provide patient meal service, including setting up tray work stations and assembling patient trays.
• Deliver and serve meals while making independent judgments about special requests and snacks.
• Provide excellent customer service and resolve customer complaints effectively.
• Maintain food handling and sanitation standards to meet licensing agency requirements.
• Interact with patients, families, and other staff to ensure a positive service experience.

Requirements

• Reading, writing, and mathematical skills.
• 1-2 years of related experience in nutrition services.
• Effective interpersonal communication skills and a friendly customer service attitude.
• Ability to follow instructions and safety guidelines for cleaning chemicals.
• Ability to learn food handling regulations and pass certification tests.
• Demonstrated effective customer service skills.

Nice-to-haves

• High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge.
• Understanding of nutrition services and common modified diets.
• Additional skills in health care nutrition services preferred.
• Bilingual skills preferred in some assignments.
• Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
