Responsibilities

  • Solves customer problems, treats customer with dignity and respect.
  • Acknowledges customer and responds quickly to customer needs.
  • Maintains telephone courtesy and patient confidentiality at all times.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to identify and process correct diets and portions for all age groups.
  • Processes room service customer orders including pertinent family initiated orders.
  • Assists patients with telephone call backs or personal visitation as needed.
  • Reviews computer printout to determine which patients have not placed an order for that meal period.
  • Documents number of meals served each day.
  • Takes phone calls for all food requests.
  • Receives requests for diet changes via computer or written format during downtime.
  • Coordinates processing of AM and PM nourishment orders.
  • Responds and cooperates with changes in workload.
  • Actively supports and participates in performance improvement activities.
  • Treats all information and data with appropriate confidentiality and security.
  • Performs other duties as directed.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED.
  • Basic comfort level with computers.
  • Ability to use computer applications to input and retrieve data.
  • Related experience or education demonstrating knowledge of normal and modified diets.
  • Ability to understand directions, communicate and respond to inquiries.
  • Effective interpersonal skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of inventory controls including ordering and management.
