About the position

The Westin Monache is seeking a dedicated individual to join our team in Mammoth Lakes, California, where the mountains are calling and adventure awaits. This position is pivotal in ensuring a seamless guest experience from the moment they book their stay to their arrival at our hotel. As a key member of our front desk team, you will be responsible for managing the guest pre-arrival experience, which includes answering Service Express phones and assisting the front desk as needed. Your role will be essential in creating a welcoming atmosphere and ensuring that our guests feel valued and well taken care of. In this fast-paced environment, you will be expected to multitask effectively while maintaining a high level of service. You will interact with guests, addressing their inquiries and resolving any issues that may arise. Your strong interpersonal skills will be crucial in building rapport with guests and ensuring their needs are met promptly. Additionally, you will be responsible for basic cash handling, ensuring accuracy in transactions and maintaining the integrity of our financial processes. Responsibilities

  • Manage the guest pre-arrival experience.
  • Answer Service Express phones and assist guests with inquiries.
  • Support the front desk team as needed.
  • Ensure a high level of service and guest satisfaction.
  • Handle basic cash transactions accurately.

Requirements

  • High School or equivalent education required.
  • 1-2 years of previous Front Desk Agent or Rooms Controller experience in a luxury, full-service property setting.
  • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to multitask in a high-volume setting.
  • Strong computer skills, with Lightspeed, GXP, and MARHSA experience beneficial.
  • Marriott/Starwood experience beneficial.
  • Knowledge of the hospitality industry.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one settings or in a group.
  • Basic cash handling skills required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Lightspeed, GXP, and MARHSA systems.
  • Previous experience in Marriott or Starwood properties.
