About the position

As a Rooms Manager-In-Training (MIT) at Four Seasons, you will embark on a comprehensive training program designed to equip you with the essential management skills necessary for success in the Rooms Division of our luxury hotel. This role is pivotal in ensuring that our guests receive the highest level of service and satisfaction during their stay. You will be immersed in various operational areas of the hotel, gaining hands-on experience and insights into the daily management tasks that are crucial for maintaining our esteemed reputation in the hospitality industry. Your responsibilities will include managing staff within the rotation you are present in, which involves scheduling, conducting performance reviews, and implementing disciplinary actions when necessary. You will also perform all essential duties in your assigned rotation, learning the roles of different positions and understanding the specific management tasks associated with each area of the hotel. This exposure will not only enhance your operational knowledge but also prepare you for future leadership roles within the organization. In the absence of senior managers, you will take decisive action in matters related to the safety, security, satisfaction, and well-being of both hotel guests and employees. Your ability to respond swiftly and effectively to emergencies or safety situations will be critical. Additionally, you will handle customer complaints with professionalism and hospitality, ensuring that all guest interactions are managed with the utmost care and attention. This includes accommodating special requests and assisting guests with inquiries related to hotel services, events, and directions. Responsibilities

  • Helps to manage the staff in the rotation you are present in, including scheduling, conducting 90-day reviews, and disciplinary action when needed.
  • Performs all necessary duties in the rotation, learning the roles of different positions and understanding the management tasks for that specific area of the hotel.
  • Takes action in all matters related to the safety, security, satisfaction, and well-being of hotel guests and employees when senior managers are not available.
  • Resolves customer complaints from all areas of the hotel, handling all guest interactions with the highest level of hospitality and professionalism.
  • Assists with responsibilities and duties in the absence of managers or due to heavy volume in other areas of the hotel.

Requirements

  • Excellent reading, writing, and oral proficiency in the English language.
  • Ability to multi-task on several tasks at once.
  • Ability to operate computer equipment and other systems used in the hotel.
  • Strong communication skills between co-workers and guests.
  • One to two years previous experience working in hospitality or in a management role.
