About the position

The position involves managing the operations of the rooms area departments at the Waikoloa Beach Marriott Resort & Spa, which includes overseeing the Front Office, Engineering/Maintenance, and Housekeeping teams. The role focuses on enhancing guest and employee satisfaction while maximizing financial performance. The manager will lead a team, ensure compliance with standards, and strive to meet property goals.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in managing the execution of all operations in the rooms area departments (e.g., Front Office, Engineering/Maintenance, Housekeeping).
  • Create and nurture a property environment that emphasizes motivation, empowerment, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
  • Understand employee and guest satisfaction results and develop strategies to address areas of need and expand on strengths.
  • Lead by example, demonstrating self-confidence, energy, and enthusiasm.
  • Assist employees in understanding and exceeding guests' ever-changing needs and expectations.
  • Publish guest satisfaction results in a timely manner, including all guest satisfaction forms and comment cards.
  • Take proactive approaches when dealing with employee and guest concerns.
  • Communicate and update all goals and results with employees.
  • Meet semiannually with staff on a one-to-one basis.
  • Assist/teach the team in scheduling against guest and occupied room goals.
  • Perform hourly job functions as needed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED with 4 years of experience in guest services, front desk, housekeeping, or a related professional area.
  • OR a 2-year degree from an accredited university in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or a related major with 2 years of experience in guest services, front desk, housekeeping, or a related professional area.
