About the position

Leprino Foods Company, a global leader in the dairy food and ingredient industry, is seeking entry-level Production Workers to join our Processing General Labor team in Roswell, NM. Leprino Foods is the world's largest supplier of mozzarella cheese and one of the largest suppliers of premium dairy nutrition ingredients. Our customers and business partners span the globe and include many of the world's largest food companies, restaurant chains, and distributors. The Processing General Labor role is critical as it involves maintaining a clean environment, adhering to all Good Manufacturing Practices, wearing Proper Protective Equipment, understanding Standard Operating Procedures, and knowing Critical Control Points pertaining to Food Safety and USDA regulations. This position includes monitoring product flow to ensure food is properly packaged. As the last person to inspect the product before it is packaged, labeled, palletized, and stored in the warehouse, this role is essential to our operations. Starting compensation for this role is $19.14, with a step increase at 6 months. Additionally, a night shift premium of $1.10 per hour is added for hours worked between 6 PM and 6 AM. Responsibilities

  • Monitor product flow on the production line to ensure proper processing, cutting, inspection, and packaging of products.
  • Communicate effectively for product transitions and comply with all product handling and food safety regulations.
  • Maintain good housekeeping at all times, including cleaning empty tubs and weighing scrap.
  • Observe proper safety policies and procedures at all times.
  • Understand customer specifications and know where to find customer information.
  • Follow instructions and direction from supervisors and other departments.
  • Demonstrate Lockout/Tagout procedures for all equipment as required.
  • Perform all job duties per established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Communicate as required with supervisors, forepersons, other departments, and coworkers.
  • Troubleshoot minor mechanical problems as needed.

Requirements

  • Must be a minimum of 18 years old.
  • Ability to perform essential job functions safely.
  • Must be able to work Sunday - Saturday, off-shifts, weekends, holidays, and required overtime to support a 24 hour/7-day operation.
  • Must be able to work a minimum of 8.5 hours.
  • Demonstrated ability to complete work assignments with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Must be willing and able to work any shift, day or night.
  • Must have a strong work history.
  • Ability to work safely in a fast-paced, continuously operating environment.
  • Good communication skills, including the ability to read, write, and speak English.
  • Ability to read, write, and perform intermediate mathematical calculations.
  • Must be able to maintain accurate records.
  • Good time management skills and ability to work independently without direct supervision.
  • Ability to interpret data and make necessary decisions.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
