About the position

The Rotary Gravure Printing Press Operator, Lead is a critical role at Multi-Color Corporation, responsible for the manufacturing of printed labels while ensuring high-quality standards and efficient press operations. This position operates on the 3rd shift and involves monitoring press conditions and label quality throughout the production process.

Responsibilities

• Operate the rotary gravure press to produce printed labels according to customer specifications.
• Monitor and maintain label quality and press conditions during production runs.
• Complete make-ready processes in accordance with job tickets and product specifications.
• Perform quality checks related to product specifications, including visual and functional checks.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to safety rules and completing daily housekeeping assignments.
• Input required information into the GlobeTek system for material usage and time tracking.
• Complete all required equipment maintenance duties, including cleaning and lubricating the press.
• Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• 1+ years of experience as a printing press operator or relevant training.
• Experience in rotary gravure printing, including solvent-based inks and rotary die cutting.
• Familiarity with wide web applications and automatic registration.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with turn bar operations, automatic splicing on rewind and unwind, lamination, and shrink processes.
• Knowledge of slitting/perforating and process colors.
