About the position

The Rotorcraft Product Support Engineer Module Owner at GE Renewable Energy Power and Aviation is a pivotal role that focuses on delivering maximum customer value through enhanced technical support and effective management of turbine engine hardware. This position is integral to ensuring that GE Aviation maintains its reputation for outstanding customer service while minimizing direct maintenance costs associated with the assigned hardware. The role involves a deep understanding of the technical aspects of Turboshaft engines and requires the engineer to provide assistance to operators, maintainers, and field service engineers in troubleshooting hardware issues. As a Module Owner, you will be responsible for authoring and approving Changes in Design (CID) for product support related to the assigned engine hardware. You will also establish and maintain Leading Indicator plans, participate in hardware scrap resolutions, and contribute to New Product Introduction (NPI) programs aimed at enhancing the performance, durability, maintainability, and cost-effectiveness of the engine hardware. This role requires a proactive approach to communication, ensuring that both internal and external stakeholders are promptly informed about engine hardware issues. Additionally, you will be involved in field event investigations and will maintain the relevant sections of the Engine Maintenance and Shop manuals. The position demands a blend of technical expertise, project management skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with various support service groups to drive improvements and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical assistance to operators, maintainers, and field service engineers in troubleshooting Turboshaft engine hardware issues.
  • Enhance the reputation of GE and the product in the field through superior technical support by developing expertise on assigned hardware.
  • Own Change in Design (CID) authorship/approver for Product Support for assigned engine hardware.
  • Establish and maintain Leading Indicator plans for assigned engine hardware working with depots.
  • Participate in Hardware scrap resolutions.
  • Participate on NPI programs to enhance assigned engine hardware performance, durability, maintainability, cost effectiveness, and customer satisfaction.
  • Provide support to Engineering for development of NPI solutions.
  • Develop and own Weibuls for assigned engine hardware for the Maintenance Cost Models.
  • Provide prompt and detailed communication of engine hardware issues both externally and internally.
  • Participate as a team member on field event investigations for assigned hardware.
  • Maintain assigned hardware sections of both the Engine Maintenance and Shop manuals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and 3+ years of technical experience with turbine engines, or a minimum high school diploma/GED with an additional 4+ years of technical experience with turbine engines.
  • Willingness to travel 10% of the time.
